Lockdown

I can’t believe it’s been this long since I’ve updated this website. Wow. Since I think all of us are locked down now due to this crazy virus debacle, I find myself with some time to get things all nice and shiny again.

I just updated the contact info, which has a working phone number now. I will be updating the photos next and making various tweaks here and there to the main structure of the site.

Point me in the right direction. Site Update

Hello everyone. Its been a while since I posted a blog post, but here is a new one. I've updated the site photo galleries with additions to all sections. I've also made a few tweaks to the site itself, so if you notice some things are slightly different, that is why. I'm going to try and update the blog more, but I have some questions.

The Blog: I would like to keep more current on the blog, but I have a few questions for all of you. First, would you like me to keep my blog focused on just tattooing, or do you want me to use the blog to discuss whatever is on my mind (.....this could get messy)? I know a lot of you love listening to my rants when we are at the shop, but is that something you would like to see more of on the blog? If the latter is the case, I will warn everyone ahead of time. I wont apologize for whatever is said on my blog (the messy part). I would love to express my thoughts and opinions with everyone, but at the same time, everyone is so damn sensitive these days, I'm bound to offend some people (maybe a lot).

I've always tried very hard to keep this site, and my social media, laser focused on tattooing, which explains my huge lack of selfies (sorry everyone on social media). By expressing my opinions on whatever is on my mind, I would be straying from that focus a bit, but at the same time, I would be able to post more. In the end, its up to you guys. Let me know what you think.

Website update! About f*#&ing time!!!!

I just had an opportunity to update the website a bit. I made some overall adjustments here and there, and made some changes to the appearances page. The fun part? PHOTOS!!! I added a lot of new photos that I've been meaning to put up for a while. Every section has new photos except the portraits section, so if anyone wants a portrait done, let me know, because my portraits section is feeling neglected and lonely.....unlike my cover up section, which is growing at an alarming rate! Seriously! I've been doing a ton of cover ups on all of you!

Anyways, take a look, share the link, tell your friends, etc. you guys know the drill. I'd be interested in hearing your opinions on the site. Do you like what's there? Do you have any ideas for new content? Let me know and I'll see what I can do.

As always, thanks to all of your for making this site what it is, and for having me do all these fun tattoos on you all. I'm looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Video Consultations are GO!

Tonight I had my very first video consultation with a client who is currently in New York. While I've never attempted this before, I have to say, it went extremely well! Every time in the past when I tried to long distance video chat, I had issues with lag and breaking up video and audio. Either the technology has gotten better or the internet is faster.....or both! Whatever the case may be, I do believe this is a pretty effective way to handle long distance clients, or clients that have extremely busy schedules. Nothing beats coming to the shop and actually sitting down one on one, but like I said before, this consult went really well, and I'll look forward to using this technology to better serve you guys, my amazing clients!

So, what do you guys think? As always, opinions are welcome. Let us know how you feel by leaving a comment below.

Status Update - Grinding.....

Due to the amount of demand for high quality Squablo tattoos, I've decided to wave my normal days off this week. That's right! I'm putting in 12 straight days of tattooing. I really appreciate all of your support, so I'm just letting you know I'm working as hard as I can. Why? Because I love you guys! Thanks again everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing you all soon.

AfterCare "instructions" legitimacy?

Ive been thinking about this a lot lately. Aftercare instructions. In my experience, this is one of the things people are most confused by, and no doubt, its because every artist will tell you something different. "Use this ointment" or "Don't use ointment, use lotion" or "Go to a farm and find a cow, milk the cow and use that on your tattoo" (ok, I made that one up...) I've even had a customer ask if after the tattoo was done, do we set it on fire? Yeah, apparently that was done to her before.

The fact is, tattoos are not very difficult to take care of. Most people don't understand that getting the tattoo done is only 50% of the tattoo process, the other 50% is taking proper care of it during the healing process. You can get the best tattoo on the planet of earth, but if you don't take proper care of it, its going to look like crap when it heals. Contrary to what some people may believe, its highly unlikely to get an infected tattoo from the tattooing process, its most likely your own fault.

Soooooo, I was thinking that since all people are different, and their bodies heal differently, at different rates, and are uniquely sensitive to uniquely different substances, a simple 5 step instruction card just isn't going to cut it for everyone. I believe that if people understood the healing process instead of getting instructions, it may be much easier for people to heal their tattoos the right way.

Would you guys like to see a detailed explanation, with pictures and diagrams, of the tattoo aftercare process as a dedicated page on this website? Let me know what you think, as I think it a VERY important thing for people to understand, and lets face it, after going through a 2 or 3 hour tattoo, you guys are not really listening to me when I explain it to you, are you..........

No rest!

......it's 2am. I'm at home. Why am I still working?!?!?!?! No rest for the wicked I suppose. Either that or it's because I still believe that you can get ahead in life by working hard.

Twitter account is now live

Want some more? Ok! Now I will be posting on Twitter as well. Seriously, I think that about nails it, unless there are people who still use MySpace........nope.........not going there. Anyways, click the super cool little birdy icon next to all the other social media icons at the bottom of every page on my website. I mean, that's pretty easy, right? Follow me to keep up with news and announcements, or maybe rants. I do tend to rant quite a bit, so we shall see.........

Google+ page is live

For all of you Google+ users out there (god knows how many of you there really are) I've just completed and launched the brand spanking new Google+ page. You should now see a nice little G+ icon on the bottom of each page of the website, next to the Facebook and Instagram icons. How in the hell am I going to stay on top of all of this stuff? Tons of social media accounts, new website, corresponding with clients, doing tattoo conventions, and a full tattoo schedule? Easy, I got a manager, and she is the best.

Looking forward to this year. Its going to be a great one

Data push successful!

It appears that my little issue with the data push service from my blog has been resolved. That's great news! so, what are you waiting for? Go check out the new website and let me know what you think!

New Things can be frustrating......

Day 4 of building this site. I had the old system down pat, but things don't stay the same forever (story of my life LOL) I am starting to get the hang of the new layout engine builder for this new site, and I am also starting to get excited. I've been spending a lot of time clicking back and forth from the current website to the new one and I have to say that I am really liking the new look and focus of the new site.

Hang in there, its coming soon, very soon.......
